ICY BLAST HITS NORTH TEXAS!
The past few days have been extremely COLD. Right now it is 26 degrees and the high is only going to be 37. I think im going to cry! This is too cold for me, especially since we live in Texas. We are not used to this kind of weather.
A new round of freezing rain overnight brought ice to many Metroplex roadways on Monday, slowing traffic and leading to dozens of crashes. Many bridges and overpasses turned into sheets of ice as temperatures dropped into the 20s. Motorists are being urged to check road conditions.
On Sunday, the Dallas police reported 121 major crashes and 138 minor crashes. On Saturday they responded to 225 crashes, about half of them major. No fatalities were reported in any of the accidents, police said. Fort Worth police said they responded to 44 minor accidents and 11 major accidents on Sunday. On Saturday 210 crashes were reported.
D/FW Airport officials reported that 415 out of the 950 scheduled flights on Sunday were canceled due to weather. More than 300 flights were canceled on Saturday.
Also this morning, the news said that there are more icy blasts headed this way.
Bush’s plans for new troops!
President Bush wants to send 21,500 more troops to Iraq to go ahead and win the war, but is that really necessary? I mean we have already lost enough troops as it is. Do you really think that he should send that many more over there so that they can get killed too?!?! “Where mistakes have been made, the responsibility rests with me,” Bush said. He said that “to step back now would force a collapse of the Iraqi government, tear that country apart and result in mass killings on an unimaginable scale.” “If we increase our support at this crucial moment and help the Iraqis break the current cycle of violence, we can hasten the day our troops begin coming home,” he said.
The military increase puts Bush on a collision course with the new Democratic Congress and pushes the American presence in Iraq toward its highest level. It also runs counter to widespread anti-war passions among Americans and the advice of some top generals.
Even before Bush’s address, the new Democratic leaders of Congress renewed their opposition to a buildup. “This is the third time we are going down this path. Two times this has not worked,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said after meeting with the president. “Why are they doing this now? That question remains.”

I don’t think that that is very necessary.
Anywho! Tell me what you think!

Andrew Jackson Presidential Flashcard
Andrew Jackson was born in a backwoods settlement in Waxhaw, South Carolina on March 15, 1767. He died at the Hermitage near Nashville, Tennessee on June 8, 1845.

Jackson’s parents lived in North Carolina. He was the third son of his Scottish and Irish parents. His father, also named Andrew, died from a logging accident just a few weeks before Andrew was born. Jackson’s mother, Elizabeth (”Betty”) Hutchison Jackson, was a strong, independent woman. After her husband’s death she raised her three sons at her sisters home in South Carolina.
Where would you go if you were a Foreign Exchange Student?
If I was a Foreign Exchange Student, I think I would go to Australia. Not just because its far away but because I think that it would be neat going and living with a family you don’t know and spending the year with them. It might be kind of frightful at first because you don’t know what to expect but it would eventually fall into place. If I went to Australia I would be able to see my cousin that I never met because she lives in Australia. I just think that it would be neat to go and live with a family. What do you think?

Cell Phones at school? What do you think?
Hey Guys! Do you think that cell phones should be allowed at school? If you need to use the phone they tell you to go to the office but why do that when you can save the trouble and just use your cell phone. I think they should be allowed just in case you forget a paper thats due today at home. So therefore we should be allowed to have our cell phones on at school.
What is your opinion on having cell phones on at school?

Family Christmas Tradition
For Christmas, I do different things almost every year. Every other year I go to my dad’s house and spend Christmas with them. My uncle and aunt usually come down from Houston and we spend about 3 or 4 days with them. This year I am with my mom and we are going to my grandma’s house. My whole family goes to her house and we have a big feast and we do White Elephant. White Elephant is where you get a gift that both male or female can use and it has to be under $20, and everyone draws a number and the last number is usually the best because you can steal someone elses gift but once the gift has been stolen 3 times it can’t be stolen again. After that we just sit around and tell old Christmas stories. This Christmas tradition has been going on even before I was born. All of my cousins, uncles, and aunts come.
Well comment me and tell me what you do for your Christmas Tradition.

Could the Mad Cow Disease affect K-Town?
Could the mad cow disease affect your city?
Mad cow disease, formally known as bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE), is a chronic degenerative disease that attacks the central nervous system of cattle, destroying brain tissue and eventually causing dementia and death. There is no known cure. Although the disease is currently in the European countries, they ship cows over seas to America which could end up causing deaths near our city.
The mad cow disease was first identified in Britian in 1985, and a widespread outbreak infected more than 100,000 cows across Europe in the mid-1990s. The recent resurgence of the disease comes despite widespread beef import restrictions and other measures intended to protect the food supply.
Meanwhile the U.N. and the World Health Organization issued a global alert Jan. 26, urging all nations to take steps to prevent the spread of the disease and to protect the food supply. That warning came one day after the first American cattle were quarantined in Texas, over concerns that they may have eaten unsafe feed. So, we are able to get this disease.
If you have any thoughts on this mad cow disease comment me!
